An SCM team should consist of a group of individuals with both the technical and soft skills to perform thrive in today's dynamic global economy.

Luckily, more and more colleges are offering academic programs for SCM and sending a new generation of talent out into the professional world. 1. Michigan State University

Michigan State has been labeled the number one SCM program in the world by multiple publications such as the U.S. News & World Report. It's no surprise that two of the program's required courses are Procurement and Supply Chain Management and Procurement Contracting. MSU even has a strategic sourcing course for its MBA program. MSU also created a Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) that allows students to communicate openly about the SCM space and network with leading industry professionals. The SCMA is meant to expand the student’s experience beyond their coursework develop a new generation of professionals.

MIT also founded the MIT Global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) Network, a global coalition of education centers aiming to research supply chain and logistics excellence and promote innovation.

The ASU Supply Chain Management Association is a student-run member organization that helps student network and apply their growing SCM skills.

Last but not least, we have the University of Tennessee. UTK also offers a breadth of different programs and even pushes for furthering education on an executive level by offering single courses for professionals to attend.
