The Electrical Distributor Magazine, “ted”, recently
interviewed Source One’s Vice President of Professional Services, Joe Payne,
for a piece titled “Working with Suppliers Before and During Crises”. The article highlights that while 43% of
electrical distributors think they are good at returning their organizations to
normal business after the supply chain experiences an unexpected disruption,
however only 24% of companies think they could coordinate activities with their
suppliers during the crisis.
The article highlights planning and collaborative thinking
as two critical components to the success of surviving a supply chain
disaster. With the Insurance Journal
reporting 36% higher losses in 2012 than the prior 10 year average, its past
due to start thinking ahead.
