Source One Management Service’s pool tournament continues as
charities like Make-A-Wish, The Wounded Warrior Project, and Susan G. Komen
wait to see which will benefit from the tournament’s ultimate victor. The pool
tournament, begun in late May to provide an alternate stream of communication
for Source One employees and determine which charity Source One will benefit,
is pitting random teams of two Source One employees against one another to see
who are the better billiards players.
The latest round on Friday, June 7th saw Chick
& A Stick take down Two Shoes & Man Ray, in a heated series that saw
Two Shoes & Man Ray practically run the table, only to scratch on the 8
ball, during the first match and made Chick & A Stick grind through a
grueling, back-and-forth second match to win the series. Said Chick & A Stick team member Kyle
Evans “This competition not only fosters great camaraderie amongst colleagues,
it provides each of us the opportunity to support a lot of great charities,
like our choice of Make-A-Wish.”
Outside of Make-A-Wish, other charities in contention for a donation by Source One include Susan G. Komen, Reading Is Fundamental, The Wounded Warrior Project, Bucks County ASPCA, PlanetAid, Main Line Animal Rescue, TOMS, ASPCA, Philabundance, Autism Speaks, and the American Cancer Society. Playing for these charities are a slew of teams with names like Chalk-o-holics, SEO Speedwagon, K-Money & The Heartbreak Kid, Ballers & Shot Callers, Kat Woman & The Pool Master, Team Diego & Joe, Gladiators, and The Magic 8 Ballers. Heading into its fourth week, the tournament has proven popular throughout the company. Steven Belli, Source One’s CEO, said “This competition is going exactly like we wanted. We’re seeing great communication around the table as those spectating discuss the games and their projects, and we’re seeing a lot of great pool as our teams have really focused on making sure their chosen charity wins.”

The tournament was made possible by Source One’s move to
larger headquarters in April 2013. The move better accommodated the
ever-growing staff of Source One and was needed to house the components
necessary for the company to stay ahead of the continuing shifts in the
strategic sourcing playing field and to enhance the performance and
profitability of its client base of Fortune 1000 companies. As part of the
move, Source One now houses a Supply Chain Center of Excellence – a specialized
supply chain department and think tank developing best practices and next
practices to meet the demands of a changing procurement industry.
In addition to its new role as a Supply Chain Center of
Excellence, Source One Management Services, LLC remains a leading procurement services consultancy,
providing procurement transformation, spend management, strategic sourcing, cost
reduction, and Decision Support services since 1992. Source One helps
organizations reduce the costs for the common and not-so-common products and
services that they use daily to run their businesses. Source One’s services
reduce the overall cost of acquisition through the application of proven
sourcing and purchasing strategies, best practices, people and technologies.
