Implant Sciences inks supplier deal with Mexican manufacturer Provetecnia Based in Massachusetts, Implant Sciences manufactures products out of a spy movie, specializing in the development of sensors and systems for defense purposes. The company announced this week it will expand its global distribution chain in Mexico, Turkey and Cyprus.

Implant Sciences said the move will better position it for growth in strategic markets throughout the world; in Mexico, it will team with Provetecnia to supply inspection systems. According to executives from Implant Sciences, Provetecnia has been a leader in the Latin American country in supplying the systems for nearly 20 years.

Provetecnia will supply Implant Sciences with systems that include explosives trace detection, x-ray machines and metal detectors. The company has extensive experience in supplying critical components to companies both within Mexico and abroad, and executives from Implant Sciences assert the supply chain deal is a good fit because of the company's strategic position in Mexico and its track record of on-time delivery of goods.

In Cyprus and Turkey, suppliers will work to manufacture electronics and security equipment for Implant Sciences. Implant Sciences chief executive Glenn Bolduc said the supplier deals illustrate the growing need for security products abroad. "Around the globe, there is growing demand for security systems and equipment from both the private and public sectors. We are very pleased to provide our Quantum Sniffer explosives trace detection device to distributors that are the leaders in their geographic markets," Bolduc said in a statement.
