Tris Pharma strengthens supply chain Tris Pharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company, recently expanded its manufacturing capacity and made its supply chain operations stronger in order to support new products the company is introducing to market.

Tris has received five new Abbreviated New Drug Application approvals from the FDA in the past two months and has several ANDAs and two New Drug Applications pending FDA approval.

"Expanding manufacturing capacity is a critical part of the growth equation but equally important is having the right team to manage our dynamic and complex supply chain," said Ketan Mehta, Tris president and CEO. "To that end, we have added several new managerial positions and were very fortunate to have recruited David Palew, a seasoned supply chain executive, for the newly created position of Senior Director of Supply Chain."

Palew has more than 15 years of experience in supply chain management at companies such as Block Drug, Alpharma, Barr/Teva and G&W Laboratories.

Tris' focus on putting a supply chain team in place as it expands with new products is a wise decision, according to Inc. magazine. "Full team ahead," was one of Inc.'s five tips for better supply chain management in a June 2011 article. The piece stressed the importance of communication and collaboration among different departments to reduce costs and drive supply chain efficiency.
