Stanley Furniture has announced that Steve Wolfe will soon join the company's executive team in the new position of vice president of global supply chain and logistics.As Stanley Furniture transitions from a partially domestic manufacturing model to a company that is primarily sourced from overseas, Wolfe will manage the company's supply chain and provide strategic and managerial leadership for logistics planning, transportation, warehouse management and delivery. Wolfe's goal is to help the company manage the change in its infrastructure and ensure that it undertakes the most efficient supply chain measures possible to reduce costs and increase profits.
The company will close its 1.7 million square-foot production facility in Stanleytown, Virginia, by year's end to focus on sourcing from overseas.
Wolfe graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics. He has 30 years of experience in the furniture industry, having worked at Broyhill Furniture Industries and Bernhardt Furniture before serving as executive vice president at Zenith Global Logistics.
"Steve's experience affords him a unique perspective when it comes to overseas and domestic logistics practices that have been successful in our industry," said Glenn Prillaman, Stanley Furniture's president and CEO. "He will be a tremendous asset to our company and to the team of people who are leading Stanley Furniture back to a position of prominence in the industry."
