From design to manufacturing the medicine to end user distribution, there are countless regulatory steps that occur before a pharmaceutical drug can be shared with a patient. And, while many pharmaceutical companies are looking to increase in-house efficiency by outsourcing certain procurement responsibilities, managing outsourced functions and ensuring their compliance to regulatory guidelines can be challenging. However, procurement is evolving from reactive to proactive and strategic measures. Now and in the future, there will be a constant focus on optimizing value from outsourced functions beyond just savings.

Discussing this evolution and what it means for pharmaceutical companies, Source One’s VP of Professional Services Joe Payne, will be presenting at ProcureCon Pharma 2015. Happening this Wednesday through Friday at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing, pharmaceutical leaders from companies such as BMS, Shire, AstraZeneca, Merck, GSK, and Johnson & Johnson will convene for two days of workshops and guest speaker presentations centered on addressing the industry-related procurement and supply chain challenges. During his presentation entitled Procurement Reality Check, Payne will discuss the major ways pharmaceutical companies can drive further value from their procurement organization.

In addition to the Procurement Reality Check presentation, ProcureCon Pharma attendees are welcome to stop by Source One’s booth, #5, to learn more about our Procurement and Business Outsourcing services.
