Strategic Sourceror and Source One are proud to announce a major overhaul to the Strategic Sourceror website. The overhaul of Strategic Sourceror includes improvements such as an easier to navigate site structure, better article classification, better visuals and a recommendation system that will help the readers better discover related strategic sourcing best practice articles and procurement news stories.

Originally launched in January of 2008, Strategic Sourceror is now approaching its 9th full year of publication. The site was founded and is managed by procurement services provider, Source One. Since 2008, Strategic Sourceror has published approximately 3,000 procurement news articles and the Source One team of strategic sourcing experts has written nearly 1,000 articles and posts covering best practices in strategic sourcing, category management and the occasional rant or observation about procurement practices.

With the new site structure and layout, Strategic Sourceror also took the opportunity to reclassify and categorize its nearly 4,000 articles and supply chain news stories in order to allow readers an easier mechanism to identify and consume content that is of direct interest to them. The new classification system groups articles into spend categories such as communications, marketing, IT, and direct materials. With these categories, procurement professionals and strategic sourcing category managers quickly find the content they are looking to consume. The site now also cleanly separates news and opinion pieces from the category-focused content and has a dedicated section for guest contributions from supply chain thought leaders and other procurement professionals.

Additionally, new options are now available to subscribe to RSS feed emails so that readers can have relevant content pushed to them. When reading a full-article, site visitors will also see related stories and article headlines that they might be interested in exploring further. The website also has an additional resources section that will highlight other publications, tools, companies and resources that could be of value to strategic sourcing and procurement professionals.

“When we launched nearly 9 years ago, we were reminded by many friendly procurement consulting competitors and other bloggers that the majority of blogs fail. We knew that it would be a real challenge to be constantly creating new and interesting content to engage our readers. We’re happy that our blog not only survived, but Strategic Sourceror has become a leading voice in the procurement and supply chain industry. Further, the website provides our subject matter experts at Source One the opportunity to establish themselves as thought leaders in the procurement industry” said William Dorn, VP Operations at Source One and website manager of StrategicSourceror.com.

As part of the site update, Strategic Sourceror also brings more focus into its product and service siblings that fall under the Source One family. As part of the evolution of Source One as the leading procurement services provider, all of the Source One brands will begin to take on the new look and feel and will include easily identifiable branding at the top of each website. Currently, the family consists of the Source One procurement consulting practice and sourcing BPO firm- SourceOneInc.com, the free e-Sourcing tools website - WhyAbe.com, the book Managing Indirect Spend - StrategicSourcingBook.com, and the spend analysis as a service offering and tool - SpendConsultant.com and the procurement news and blog site - StrategicSourceror.com.
