Sullivan, Cotter and Associates acquires RSM McGladrey unit As hospitals, insurance companies and IT companies prepare to comply with the landmark healthcare bill passed by the Obama Administration in 2010, mergers and acquisitions have become increasingly commonplace. Illustrating that trend, Sullivan, Cotter and Associates announced this week it acquired RSM McGladrey's Physician Compensation Practice.

The acquisition will help to strengthen SC&A's healthcare consulting division, with members of RSM McGladrey's consulting shop joining the firm. The RSM consultants are highly knowledgeable in physician compensation design and fair market value assessments, and their expertise will benefit SC&A's large medical clinics division, company chief executive Ted Chien affirmed.

"The addition of these talented consultants and survey capabilities expands SullivanCotter's footprint beyond its current consulting focus," he added. "Extending our service offerings is another way that we continue to add value to our clients."

SC&A completed its purchase of Diversified Medical Management in May 2011, and with the addition of RSM's consultants, SC&A will become one of the country's largest physician consulting firms in the U.S., with more than 35 full-time staff comprising its workforce.
