The Electrical Distributor Magazine, “ted”, recently interviewed Source One’s Vice President of Professional Services, Joe Payne, for a piece titled “Working with Suppliers Before and During Crises”.  The article highlights that while 43% of electrical distributors think they are good at returning their organizations to normal business after the supply chain experiences an unexpected disruption, however only 24% of companies think they could coordinate activities with their suppliers during the crisis.

The article highlights planning and collaborative thinking as two critical components to the success of surviving a supply chain disaster.  With the Insurance Journal reporting 36% higher losses in 2012 than the prior 10 year average, its past due to start thinking ahead.
