Oxfam transforms supply chain systemOxfam, one of the leading charity retailers, recently announced that it's replacing its major purchasing and supply chain systems in an effort to build on the supply of new products.

The chain retailer is also aiming to improve financial reporting of products that were donated to its 690 high street shops.

“We’re very proud to be working for Britain’s best-known charity," said Colin Bain, managing director at K3 Retail & Business Solutions. "Oxfam is a major high street retailer and, as such, needs advanced retail systems that will help it manage a diverse and growing business. It must also be easy to use for the 22,000 volunteers who give so generously of their time.”

The latest solution proposed by K3 has been adopted by Oxfam and the company hopes it will lead to increased efficiency and cost savings for the company. Charitable contributions could also increase for the company, which will eliminate expensive manual processes across the Oxfam Trading Division.

According to a recent article from Manufacturing.net, overcoming diverse technical competencies between participants in the supply chain community is one of the most important aspects of improving management within a company.
