A soon to be released survey by Deloitte finds that Latin America is steadily gaining among corporate decision-makers as a preferred location for outsourcing, according to the business blog Nearshore Americas.

Nearshore Americas’ correspondents report that they were given a “sneak preview” of the findings at a recent Shared Services and Outsourcing Week conference in Orlando.

According to the Nearshore Americas account, respondents to the Deloitte survey ranked Latin America second, behind Asia, when asked where companies were considering relocating or adding service delivery capacity.

Because of Latin America’s fast growing economies, companies already are in the process of expanding their capabilities to meet growing business and consumer demands in those markets by increasing production, distribution and marketing, the survey’s authors noted. In addition, the survey found that shared services operations are growing to meet those growing business needs.

In fact, Latin America now ranks second behind Asia for shared services and outsourcing, reports Nearshore Americas.

The account from Nearshore Americas reflects in part what executives at Source One have been seeing in their own efforts on behalf of nearshore-focused clients and Mexico stands to be a prime beneficiary.

Thanks in part to inherent advantages obtained through the NAFTA free trade agreement, lower costs for shipping and a labor force that is both reasonably priced and has a high level of fluency in English, a number of U.S. companies have begun to look closer to home for new sources for materials, products and services.

Source One professionals have been working with potential suppliers in Mexico and Latin America to help them improve their outreach to the U.S. marketplace, as well as with U.S. companies to identify reliable, near-shore business partners. Those efforts recently led to an invitation from a key Mexican business development group to make a special presentation before its assembly this week in Manzanillo.

Source One’s CEO Steven Belli and Director of Operations William Dorn will address the 2nd National Congress Manzanillo (CONAMA) 2011 on Thursday, March 10. Their topic, titled “A U.S. Buyer’s Perspective on Sourcing in Mexico: Challenges and Opportunities” will be presented to an expected audience of some 500 participants representing leaders from government, businesses and universities throughout Mexico and Latin America with interests in international commerce, outsourcing and procurement, logistics, transportation and tourism.

Note: Source One will be providing a live Twitter Cast during the CONAMA Mexico business presentation. Look for updates from GetSavings and follow the proceedings as they happen.
